WHIRLPOOL/TUBS:
CARE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Pre-Installation
Before the whirlpool is installed it should be inspected thoroughly for surface damage due to shipping or handling.
Every whirlpool has been inspected at the factory prior to shipping. Each unit is shipped with a “PRE-INSTALLATION CHECK-LIST”. This list should be read thoroughly by the end-user prior to installation to avoid costly de-installations in the case of a problem.
Every whirlpool and soaking tub is also shipped with a “CLEAN-UP AND MAINTENANCE” sheet which outlines the proper procedure for final clean up after installation. This is to be removed only by the home occupant.
Clarke does not use staples or other packaging methods that could inadvertently cause scratching or surface scuffing. However, some times a unit might be delivered to a jobsite with a minor scratch or scuff. In most cases these can be removed by buffing with polishing compound which can be purchased at automotive supply stores.
Repair Procedure
Most minor scratches and cigarette burns can be removed by sanding the area with #180 or #240 wet or dry sand paper and progressing down to #600 or #1200 grit. Finally, apply light buffing compound and buff area with a clean cotton buffing pad until the surface has been restored.
For cracks or major damages, contact CLARKE PRODUCTS, INC. customer service.
Cleaning The Whirlpool System
The whirlpool needs to be cleaned every two weeks by flushing the system. This is easily accomplished by following these steps:
Unscrew the suction cover and clean away hair, lint or debris from the cover and housing, and then remount the cover in place.
Fill the tub with warm water to a level roughly 2” above the jets.
Put in a 1/2 cup of a low-sudsing cleanser such as PineSol™ or Lysol™. In extreme cases or in hard water environments, a 1/2 cup of bleach can be added to the mix.
Turn the air controls off to avoid bubbles, run the whirlpool for 10-15 minutes and then rinse by repeating the process without the cleaning additives.
DO NOT RUN WHIRLPOOL DRY. Make sure the water level is at least 2" above the jets. |
